The whole antennagate fiasco left a dark cloud over Apple and the new iPhone 4. But there could be a solution on the horizon.
It seems as though a top executive for Mexican carrier Telcel recently announced that his company will launch the iPhone 4 on Friday August 27th. He also stated in his press release that Apple is going to release an off cycle hardware revision that will fix the antenna issues and improve reception. The press releases states September 30, 2010 as the day the new hardware will ship, which coincides with the expiration of the free case offer Apple had come up with. There has been no confirmation of the possible upcoming fix from Apple however. Telcel is an authorized Apple dealer but this possible fix has to be confirmed before it holds any legitimacy, obviously.
